SATURN ATELIER was conceived in London and perfected in the historic foundry workshops of Tuscany. We reject planned obsolescence, hollow pressings, and commercial electroplated veneers in favor of timeless heirloom fixtures cast from pure architectural alloy.
London Design Direction
Every silhouette originates in our Mayfair design studio. We balance classical neoclassical symmetry with brutalist architectural proportions, producing luminaires that anchor fine interiors without overwhelming their context.
Tuscan Foundry Heritage
Manufacture takes place in Florence alongside multi-generational metalworkers. Using sand-casting and single-point lathe turning, each component reflects the human hand, calibrated down to tenths of a millimeter.
Anti-Obsolescence Philosophy
We believe architectural fixtures should outlast the buildings they illuminate. All joinery is threaded mechanical brass with zero glued assemblies, ensuring total serviceability for centuries to come.
Three Disciplines of Florentine Metalwork
From virgin alloy billet to hand-waxed heirloom luminaire.
Unadulterated Ingot Pour
We smelt certified C36000 alloy billets at 940°C. Pure copper and zinc equilibrium ensures dense molecular cohesion, preventing structural micro-fissures and providing superior acoustic and vibration dampening.
Single-Point Lathe Turning
Rather than stamping thin sheet metal, each backplate, knurled knop, finial, and counterweight is lathe-turned from solid bar rod by master craftsmen in Florence, producing satisfying physical heft and sharp edge definition.
Living Patina Maturation
Hand-fumed with organic sulfide vapors and sealed with warm microcrystalline wax. The metal breathes and develops a bespoke heirloom luster over decades, responding naturally to touch, ambient humidity, and natural light.
Noble Architectural Substrates
We source exclusively natural, certified, and recyclable materials.
Heavyweight extruded rod and forged ingots with naturally antimicrobial properties and resistance to environmental corrosion.
Optically clear and fluted borosilicate glass annealed in slow-cool lehrs to eliminate optical aberrations and thermal stress.
Slip-cast fine bone china shades providing soft, warm diffuse reflectance with delicate translucency under 2700K illumination.
Organic linen and handmade parchment lined with flame-retardant backing for warm, glare-free architectural ambient lighting.
